A very special lady {please pray}

I am incredibly fortunate.

I have 4 very wonderful grandparents, all of whom I am very close with. I grew up within 15 minutes of all of them, so they were always an integral part of my life.

Tomorrow morning, when I'm waking up, my Grandma W. will be starting open heart surgery. As I go about my morning routine, drop the girls off at school and get things done as work, all my family back home will be gathered anxiously in a hospital waiting room, waiting, hoping & praying.

It's strange to be so far away while something so huge is going on. My life keeps going, but my mind is elsewhere. . .

They talked with the surgeon today and received some unexpected news. Her overall health isn't as good as they previously believed, so that increases the risks involved with the surgery. However, she still has peace about going forward. She told them that she is in God's hands regardless of what happens and she feels good about her decision.

My Grandpa asked her what her goals are. She said to see my cousin's upcoming new baby. She said she was determined to make it.

From what I'm hearing, my Grandpa isn't doing so great either. It sounds like he might have a cold on top of all the emotional strain that is on him right now. They've been married for over 60 years and I can't think of one without the other. They do EVERYTHING together. Always have.

So if you could please pray. Please pray for my Grandma & her recovery. That she will have the resolve to do what she needs to, to get better. For wisdom for the surgeon. For my Grandpa; that his cold will get better as I'm sure if they notice he's sick they could restrict his time spent with her after surgery, and for emotional and mental well-being tomorrow and as she recovers.

xoxo—Lori
